Travel Late Player Placement

Held in late July to early August, after initial team selections and placements. These player placements are intended for new players that have recently moved into the Charlottesville area, players who could not participate in the annual player placements due to injury or schedule conflicts, or players recommended by SOCA’s Technical staff.

Approval from the SOCA Travel Coaching Staff is required in order to participate in the late travel player placements.

Please note:
There are very limited spots available at the Late Travel player placement and it is in the player’s best interest to attend the primary Annual Player Placements, if possible. Coaches are under no obligation to fill roster spots or add players to a roster at the Late player placements.

2026/2027 Travel Program Late Player Placements:  Monday, August 3, 2026.

U11-U12 Teams | 5:00-6:oopm
U13-U14 Teams | 6:00-7:oopm
U15-U16 Teams | 7:00-8:oopm
U17-U19 Teams | 8:00-9:00pm

Challenge Late player placements:

Also occur annually in early August. At the Annual player placements, each Challenge team will typically be formed with a single roster vacancy. The late player placements will seek to fill all such vacancies. Any interested, age-appropriate player may participate in the late Challenge player placements. All eager candidates are welcome to attend. Arrive 15-20 minutes early to check in at the registration tent for your player placements.  If possible please pre-register for the Challenge Late player placement online through your SOCA account.  Selections and team placements will be announced via e-mail as close to the conclusion of the player placements as possible (most likely the following week).

All candidates born from U10 – U14.

2026/2027 Late Challenge Player Placements:  All age groups – U10, U12 and U14 Boys and Girls
Saturday, August 8, 2026 @ the South Fork Soccer Park, 11:00am-12:30pm
