2025 Summer Camp Information.

Summer Camps & Academies will be offered throughout June, July & August of 2025.  

The Full Day Camp provides a relaxed environment for players to explore the game, while also engaging with friends in a socially appropriate setting.  Each day includes individual training, small group training, Academic Enrichment & Pool time through our partnership with Fairview Swim & Tennis Club.

The Summer Development Academy (SDA) provides a focused training environment for the advanced player,  driven to improve over the summer.  SDA is divided by gender and age groups.  All sessions are in the climate protected Field House.

The Annual World Cup Camp provides a fun camp environment for players at all levels.  The camp is a great learning atmosphere which builds enthusiasm, confidence and skills.

Each Camp or Academy is limited by the total number of players enrolled. 

Summer Full Day Camp Description

Full Summer Day Camp; at SOCA Field House

SOCA Summer Day Camp is an engaging summer program offered to all players U7 through U12 (born 2014-2019).  Again this year, the Day Camp will be a “Full Day” Camp, and will run Monday through Friday from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm.  Players will be grouped by age and ability.  We will focus on fun skill-building games, big group activities, and small-sided scrimmages.  This camp is perfect for the novice and recreational player seeking summer soccer activities!

We will have some of the same favorite features: This year, we will have these added features:

• Daily Swimming Pool opportunities through a partnership with Fairview Swim Club in Belvedere 
• Daily STEM or Fine Arts activities 
• Enhanced Game Room and Yard Games

Times: 9:00 am – 4:00 pm 

(“Early Drop-Off” and “Late Pick-Up” will be available for a weekly fee – separate registration for this feature will be offered before the camp)

Location: SOCA Field House, 875 Belvedere Blvd., Charlottesville

Registration Fee: $445 (Early Bird Registration = $420 by February 16)  Registration Deadline May 9, 2025

$20 Administrative Fee for any refunds prior to February 14, 2025

$75 Administrative Fee for any refunds after February 14, 2025 but before May 9, 2025

Includes: Weekly Camp Giveaways, Camp T-shirt, and professional instruction 

Players will remain active throughout the week!

The SOCA Field House provides a unique venue for summer camps.  With eight massive garage doors that open along the sides of the building and four 20’ diameter ceiling fans, there will be plenty of fresh air, without being in the direct sun, or rain! 

This camp is a great way to build confidence and increase soccer ability in an enjoyable, relaxed, comfortable environment. SOCA Summer Day Camp is lots of fun and is recommended for Challenge and Recreational players, beginners, and players new to the game.  All are welcome!

Summer Development Academy

2025 Summer Development Academy (SDA) at the SOCA Field House

The SDA is a focused developmental program intended for serious, advanced, eager, experienced players within their age range.  The program focuses on individual player development with an emphasis on ball mastery.  The skills will then be applied in competitive activities.

Each session will include technical skill training & small-sided games.

All sessions will be led by licensed coaches in collaboration with current and former college players.  All SDA sessions are 75 minutes long.

Location:  SOCA Field House, 875 Belvedere Blvd., Charlottesville, VA, 22901

Time:  75 minutes in the evening – see schedule below

Days:  Academy runs from June 2 – July 31 (no sessions July 2 & 3).

Registration Fee:  $160 (Early Bird Registration until May 1) – $175 after May 1.

This experience is designed to target the development of our youth players through technical repetition and competition.  SDA will be a gender and age range specific training environment, led by Skyline Elite & SOCA licensed coaches in collaboration with returning college players.

Players will have the opportunity 2x each week to train and play games with this player pool.  Each session will begin with a technical emphasis on improving and developing touch control and individual dribbling.

u10-12 Girls (2016,2015,2014):  Tue (6:05-7:20 pm) & Thur (4:45-6:00 pm)

u13-15 Girls Travel Only (2013,2012,2011):  Mon (6:10-7:25 pm) & Wed (6:20-7:35 pm)

u10-12 Boys (2016,2015,2014):  Tue (4:45-6:00 pm) & Thur (6:05-7:20 pm)

u13-15 Boys Travel Only (2013,2012,2011):  Mon (7:30-8:45 pm) & Wed (5:00-6:15 pm)

All sessions will be conducted in the SOCA Field House, so no rain outs.

The program will run 9 weeks = 17 sessions, from June 2 – July 31 (no sessions July 2-3)

The SDA will have limited spaces.  Early Bird Registration of $160 available until May 1.  After May 1, the registration will return to $175.

World Cup Camp

2025 SOCA Charlottesville World Cup Camp

SOCA’s famous World Cup Camp features a fun camp environment for players at all levels.  The camp is directed by senior SOCA staff members. There will be great leadership, curriculum, and instruction.

The World Cup Camp is SOCA’s most popular camp!  The camp is a great learning atmosphere which builds enthusiasm, confidence and skills.  Players are grouped by age & gender (u11-15) and formed onto World Cup teams, which practice the topic of the day and then compete every evening in fun WORLD CUP matches.  Daily World Cup trivia contest.  Come enjoy the world’s greatest game!

Dates:   July 14-18, 2025

Time:  5:30 pm-7:30 pm

Location:  South Fork Soccer Park, 1685 Polo Grounds Road, Charlottesville

Fee:  $160.00 per player

Includes:  Soccer ball, World Cup Camp t-shirt.  World Cup format.  Pizza Party on Friday night!

All sessions include demonstrations, small group training, small-sided games and a fun World Cup format tournament.  The overall emphasis is on learning while having fun.  Register to participate in a Charlottesville tradition!

Summer Goalkeeping Academy

2025 Summer Goalkeeper Academy  at the SOCA Field House

The Summer Goalkeeper Academy is a focused developmental program intended for advanced, eager, experienced players within their age group.  The program focuses on individual player development within a dynamic small group setting.  In the U10-U15 Goalkeeper Academy the emphasis is on acquiring technical skills in catching, handling, air balls, footwork, positioning, distribution, breakaways, shot stopping, diving and other foundational skills.

Sessions include technical skill training, dynamic training activities, and game activities.  We seek to establish positive long-term training habits for each player.

Low player-to-coach ratio enables individual attention.  All Summer Academy Goalkeeper sessions are 45 minutes long.

Sessions are active, focused and age-appropriately demanding.  Players will enjoy the fast pace.

All instruction will be provided by SOCA staff coaches or other certified coaches and goalkeeper instructors.

Summer Goalkeeper Union

2025 Summer Goalkeeper Union at the SOCA Field House

The GK Union offers a focused training environment that is age and skill appropriate.  Typically each goalkeeper training session will be composed of individual technical skill development, small group training activities specific to the training topic, and group competitive instructional games.

Goalkeeper Union intended for Travel Level Goalkeepers Only.  The Advanced Goalkeeper Union will focus on perfecting technical goalkeeping fundamentals and incorporate advanced tactical thinking. Topics will include catching techniques, footwork, shot stopping, breakaways, collapse dive, proper positioning, distribution and dealing with low and high balls. The sessions will include both technical training and active training game activities.  Small training groups will be formed based upon age, ability and experience.

Days:  Academy runs five Monday evenings: June 9, 16, 23, 30; July 7.

Registration Fee:  $100

This program is limited in size.  There are no refunds after the registration deadline of June 9.
