SOCA’s Winter Camps offer a systematic and focused training environment for players of all ages and levels looking to improve their soccer abilities. Utilizing the soccer-specific SOCA Field House, SOCA takes its locally renowned soccer programming indoors to sharpen skills, develop new talents and help players prepare for the upcoming spring season. The indoor setting naturally lends itself to technical development, shrinking the time and space a player has on the ball. SOCA’s professional coaching staff will help players maximize the indoor conditions and provide the technical understanding that has made SOCA’s Travel program successful for over 30 years.
Winter Academy takes place in January & February of 2023 at the SOCA Field House; beginning the week of January 2-5, ending the week of February 6-9. The week of February 13-16 is the reserved make-up week in the event of weather cancellations.
The Winter Academy provides a focused training environment that is age and level appropriate. Typically each training session will include: individual technical skill development, small group training activities specific to the daily topic, and small sided game play. Academy instruction is provided by SOCA staff coaches and other selected coaches. Each Academy is limited in size to ensure appropriate coach-to-player ratio. Each program will run for six consecutive weeks meeting once per week at the same day, location and time, with a reserved make-up date in the event of inclement weather cancellation.
Cost: $137
Each Academy is limited by the total number of players enrolled. There are no refunds after the registration deadline of December 16, 2022.
All Winter Academy programs will take place at the fabulous, soccer-specific SOCA Field House in the Belvedere neighborhood. Each day will consist of small group instruction, age appropriate games and fun full group activities.
The Holiday Soccer Skills Clinic portion will include a skill development program intended for all players. The program focuses on individual player development within a dynamic small group setting. The clinic will be formatted in a unique structure, with players rotating through four skill stations each day. Over the three days players will receive training in 12 essential topics. The emphasis is on learning important skills such as: ball mastery, dribbling, receiving, passing, shooting, defending, and other fundamental skills.
Each daily session includes rotation through a variety of technical topic stations. Players will be grouped by age, experience, ability and gender when possible.
