Skyline Elites Open State Cup with Wins

Skyline Elite teams began their pursuit of the VYSA State Cup crowns with an impressive four wins out of five matches on Saturday, October 3.  For Skyline Elite teams, this was their opening round of action in the single elimination state championship competition.

Leading the way in a series of games held at the Charlottesville High School stadium were the U17 Boys, who stormed to a thorough 7-0 win over Great Falls-Reston in the opening match.  That win was followed by a narrowest-of-margins, 1-0 victory by the U15 Boys over Barca Academy.  Closing the day to complete the sweep at CHS were the U15 Girls, who brushed aside Loudoun 3-0.

At South Fork Soccer Park the U16 Girls Skyline Elite edged out Va Legacy in a 3-2 nail biter.  The U16 Boys were dropped by the same score to Loudoun.

All four of the winning Elite teams are now placed in the quarter final round, scheduled to be played on October 17.
