Greg Paynter Added to SOCA Staff

SOCA recently announced the addition of Greg Paynter to the staff as the new Director of Goalkeeping and Premier Program Coordinator in Charlottesville.

Greg has been working with SOCA in an adjunct capacity for two years and the club is pleased to welcome him to a full time staff position.  Prior to moving to Charlottesville, Greg served for ten years as the Head Coach of the NCAA Division 1 Towson University Women’s team.  He also previously served as the Associate Head Coach at James Madison University.

Greg brings a wealth of experience to the club with particular excitement being generated by his goalkeeping instruction expertise.  At JMU he designed and implemented the goalkeeping curriculum and he will put that emphasis to work as SOCA’s Goalkeeping Director.  Greg holds Advanced National and National Diplomas through United Soccer Coaches and will be leading the SOCA-Charlottesville Premier Travel Program as well as coaching Charlottesville-based Premier teams for SOCA.

Greg officially begins work on August 1.  Please look for him on the field and at the SOCA office and welcome him to our soccer family.  Greg is keen to get started and is looking forward to getting to know the players, coaches and families in the club.

The SOCA leadership are excited to have Greg join the club staff.
