Charlottesville Premier Travel

SOCA Charlottesville Premier Travel Program

The mission of the Premier travel program is to provide a training and game developmental setting preparing players for advanced development.  Player development takes place through elevated commitment and competition.

Premier teams represent the highest level of travel competition within Skyline Club Soccer League.  SOCA-Charlottesville Premier teams are based in the Charlottesville region.  Premier teams not only offer a path to advancement to the SOCA-Elite program but also a destination for those players interested in a more regional travel program offering.

  • Tryouts

Premier teams are formed in the U11-U19 age groups for both boys and girls.  In the U11 and U12 age groups an additional Apprentice team will be formed to participate in the Club Champions League.  There will also be teams formed in these age groups for the Skyline Club Soccer League.

Selection is through the tryout process only.  All players must tryout annually and are encouraged to tryout for the top level travel team offered in their age group.

There are three tryouts per year: Annual/Open, Late, and Mid-Year Tryouts. Team availability is only guaranteed at the Annual/Open Tryouts. All interested candidates for the Late or Mid-year tryouts should contact the SOCA office prior to attending, to verify team placement availability. Please contact Jimmy.Tharpe@SOCAspot.org with inquiries.

Team creation is based upon the quantity and quality of player candidates.  Player selection and placement is based upon ability.  Teams are formed at the discretion of the SOCA Coaching Director and Premier Program Coordinator.

For more information please see our tryout page.

  • Team Commitment

Premier teams are selected in the late spring (June) and begin training in late summer (first week of August). Players commit to participate for the entire year.

There are no refunds after the registration deadline in June. Players  commit to participating for the full year at the time of registration. Exceptions are only made for medical reasons or family relocation.
