Charlottesville Winter Camps

SOCA’s Winter Camps offer a systematic and focused training environment for players of all ages looking to improve their soccer abilities. Utilizing the SOCA Training Center and gym spaces throughout the city and county, SOCA takes its locally renowned soccer programming indoors to sharpen skills, develop new talents and help players prepare for the upcoming spring season. The indoor setting naturally lends itself to technical development, shrinking the time and space a player has on the ball. SOCA’s professional coaching staff will help players maximize the indoor conditions and provide the technical understanding that has made SOCA’s travel program successful for over 30 years.

  • Winter Academy Description

The Winter Academy provides a focused training environment that is age and skill appropriate.  Typically each training session will be composed of three main parts:  individual technical skill development, small group training activities specific to the daily topic, and small sided game play. Academy instruction is provided by SOCA staff coaches and each Academy is limited in size to ensure appropriate coach-to-player ratio.  Each player will receive a Winter Academy T-shirt. Each program will run for six consecutive weeks meeting once per week at the same day, location and time, with a reserved make-up date in the event of inclement weather cancellation.

    Cost:  $135
This program is limited to 12 players per each Academy offering.  There are no refunds after the registration deadline of December 11th.

There are exciting offerings at the SOCA Training Center in Ruckersville and challenging age and gender specific Travel-only options for advanced players.  We offer a Goalkeeping School series, an Attacker! series for U10, U12 and U14 players, along with Hot Shots and U8 options.  Check the specific options available for your player and individual session descriptions in your personal SOCA account.

Friday Night Open Gym:  A benefit of being registered for the SOCA Winter Academy is free access to the Friday Night open Gym program at the SOCA Training Center, in Ruckersville (126 Commerce Drive).  Each Friday, the facility is open and available for unstructured use by age-appropriate players.  The Training Center is open as follows:
