SOCA - Soccer Organization of Charlottesville-Albemarle

SOCA wins title  -  SCSL welcomes new member - Club Merger in Augusta County

SOCA Wins Title

The Soccer Organization of Charlottesville-Albemarle was crowned the League Champion for the Fall 2007 season.  The club earned the title of League Champion by virtue of their teams' cumulative performance during the fall season.   SOCA becomes the first three-time winner of the League Championship in league history as the club also won the title in Fall 2006 and Spring 2007.  The race for the cup was extremely tight at the top with three clubs all finishing within 4.5 points of each other.  The newly formed Augusta FC proved extremely competitive with a close second place finish and Harrisonburg Soccer Association had yet another strong showing in third.

SCSL Welcomes New Member

The Skyline Club Soccer League would like to welcome a new member into the league for the Fall 2007 season.  Nelson Express Travel Soccer was accepted into the league at the end of the Spring 2007 season and will begin play this fall.  Nelson County is between Charlottesville and Lynchburg and we are excited to have NETS participating in the league.  NETS was founded in 1998 and has fielded travel teams ever since, most recently in the BRCL.  They expect to field several high school age teams this fall.  Best of luck and welcome to the league.

Club Merger in Augusta County

A new club has formed in Augusta County which represents the merger of three previous associatons.  The BRSA, Augusta United and Woodrow Wilson Swarm have merged their operations to form the Augusta Futbol Club.  This new club will serve the areas of Waynesboro, Staunton and greater Augusta County.  By combining resources, Augusta FC expects to be able to offer a more comprehensive and even more competitive club.  The Skyline Club Soccer League fully supports the merger and looks forward to the participation of the Augusta FC and its new teams this fall.  Congratulations on pulling together different groups in a cooperative spirit that will benefit the larger community.  Good luck this fall and in the future.
