Referee Training Schedule
Support the game of soccer by becoming a referee. This is a rewarding way to participate and assist others to play this great game. Opportunities are available for referees beginning at age 12. The United States Soccer Federation (USSF) establishes the Grade standards for soccer referees in the USA. The two referee entry Grades which SOCA sponsors trainings for are Grade 9 (for Rec, Challenge and Assistant Referee only for up to U-14 travel) and Grade 8 (for Rec, Challenge, Travel and Adult Leagues). These do not relate to school grades. To referee matches for SOCA you must successfully complete the training to become certified as Grade 8 or Grade 9.
There will be local training sessions sponsored by SOCA in late July and August. These cannot be formalized until after USSF creates a new database in early July. To see all classes around the state, go to www.vadcsoccerref.com and click on "CLINIC LISTING (VIEW ONLY)" on the upper left side. Again, that database will not be open until July.
All USSF Referees are required to re-certify annually before they are allowed to referee.
FOR ALL CLINICS: The cost is $65.00. Go to www.vadcsoccerref.com and follow the registration process for a new referee. To complete your on-line registration you will need to allow 2 business days to complete. Registration is required before attending the class.
